Join us for the 2026 RECA Community Yard Sale 5/16 – 5/17!
The RECA Community Yard Sale, in conjunction with our neighboring association, Montgomery Square, will be held on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2026. As usual, you can host a sale at your yard on either or both days. We will list 10am-3pm as the sale hours but feel free to open earlier and/or stay later to take advantage of early bird customers and late risers. By holding our yard sale jointly with Montgomery Square, we will have more advertising and expect broader participation with more traffic coming into our area for your sale.
We will publicize the community yard sale in advance, have signage during the sale weekend to direct visitors to participating homes, and will have an interactive map via QR code so that visitors can easily locate participating homes on their phone.
To defray costs of advertising (which will include the map with your location) and signage, all participating households are asked to make a one-time $15 donation to RECA for this event.
Registering for the RECA yard sale:
Send an email to yardsale@regencyestates.org by April 30th with your name and tell us which day(s) you want to participate. Then pay the $15 registration fee by either:
- Using RECA’s PayPal website HERE. After clicking that payment link, select the “$15” box for the amount, then please click the box underneath to cover the processing fee. When you arrive at the review screen, in the Notes section, please enter your name, mailing address and which days you’re participating so we can register you to appear on the maps. Then complete your payment.
- Alternately, you can pay by making out a check for $15 payable to “RECA” and mailing it to Regency Estates Civic Association, c/o Jan Peterson, 8612 Bunnell Dr, Potomac, MD 20854. Be sure to put your name and address on the envelope or on a note inside with the check.
When your payment is received, we will add your address to the Yard Sale maps.
Participants will note that the Free RECA Community Picnic is also being held at the pool on the same weekend and is scheduled to start Saturday morning at 11:00 (rain date Sunday). You can participate in both activities by having someone in your household or another responsible person cover for you while you are enjoying the picnic for a couple hours on Saturday, or just by holding your Yard Sale on Sunday only.

Free Community Picnic on May 16
On Saturday, May 16th (rain date Sunday) RECA will hold its Annual Free Community Picnic at the RESC pool. As usual, RECA supplies free hot dogs & burgers (veggie versions, too), snacks and soft drinks, and you provide the community! We have some limited opportunities for sponsorships, where your business or group can set up a banner or signs, a table, or a booth outdoors during the picnic to engage directly with community members.
